Spanish Colonization

The invation of the Filipino's by Spain. The Philippine Islands first came to the attention of the Europeans with the Spanish Expedition led by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. Claiming the Island of Cebu from the natives he was killed by the chief of the tribe named Lapu-Lapu. How lucky we are to have a brave hero to defend our land like him back then! but over the next several decades, other Spanish expeditions were send off to our lands again. And on 1543 , Ruy Lopez De Villalobos found Samar and Leyte and gave the name Las Islas Filipinas named after Philip II of Spain. The name he gave was later given to the entire archipelago. Well, im not really a fan of spanish colonization but i have to admit that they've influenced us in many good ways too!
